Makkiyad Meenmutty Waterfalls

Banasura Sagar Dam

The largest earth dam in India and the second largest of its kind in Asia, Banasura Sagar Dam gets its fair share of tourists and is considered one of the top places to visit in Wayanad. The dam,made up of massive stacks of stones and boulders, which impounds the Karamanathodu tributary of the Kabini River, is part of the Indian Banasurasagar Project consisting of a dam and a canal project started in 1979. Sree Thirunelli Mahavishnu Temple

Thirunelli Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Maha Vishnu, located on the side of Brahmagiri hill in Wayanad, Kerala, near the border of Karnataka state. The temple is at an altitude of about 900m in a valley surrounded by mountains and beautiful forests. It is the only temple in the world where the devotees can perform all the rituals related to one’s life, starting from birth to death and life after death, making it an internal spot of Hindu culture. Chembra Peak

Edakkal Caves

The Edakkal caves are two natural caves at a remote location at Edakkal, perching 1,200m above sea level on Ambukutty Mala, near an ancient trade route connecting the high mountains of Mysore to the ports of the Malabar coast. Inside the caves are pictorial drawings and engravings dating back to the Neolithic era, the late Stone Age, indicating the presence of ancient human settlements in the region from the time. Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
